Welcoming the new seminarians

On the special day when all Australians celebrate “AUSTRALIA DAY”, we had the joy of welcoming the first-year seminarians to our community at Strathfield. They were accompanied by their Formator, Fr. Dominic Nguyen and the Dean of studies, Sr.Susanna Edmunds. (Good Shepherd Seminary is just down the road from our convent).

The eight young candidates, who had just joined the seminary, were happy to  meet  and chat with the sisters while enjoying  a nice morning tea together.

For many of them it was the first time to come to our convent and they were keen to learn more about our Congregation’s charism and mission.  They were delighted to discover that we have daily prolonged Eucharistic Adoration where we pray in a special way for seminarians and priests. They also were impressed with our Priestly and Liturgical Apostolate.

We introduced them to our Chapel and invited them to come and spend time praying before the Eucharistic Lord whenever they can and we also assured them of our continual prayerful support.

Sr.Susanna thanked us for our hospitality, she wrote, “Thank you so much for the photos! A great memento of a lovely day.

We are grateful for your hospitality and prayers. The seminarians commented on how inspiring it was to be with you all as they begin their journey of formation.”
