For the first time in its history, St. Dominic’s Parish in Camberwell, Vic, joyfully hosted a Multicultural Food Day Lunch, bringing together the rich diversity of its parish community in a spirit of unity and celebration.
This historic event was made possible through the enthusiastic participation of parishioners, with five members of our multicultural community each preparing a native dish representing their heritage. From savory to sweet, the lunch table offered a vibrant display of international flavours that reflected the cultural richness within our parish.
More than just a meal, the gathering was a meaningful expression of our church’s commitment to synodality and solidarity. As we shared food, stories, and fellowship, we experienced the beauty of being one body in Christ—united in diversity and strengthened in faith.
The success of this event marks a hopeful step forward for future initiatives that celebrate our cultural diversity and richness.
