September 5th to 7th, we the Sisters in Temporary Vows in the Australian Delegation had our first formative meeting with our formator, Sr. Anita D’Souza, which took place in the Strathfield community.
The first day was truly grace-filled. We were enriched by the input of Sr. Anita and Sr. Anetta Szczykutowicz. Sr. Anita helped us to reflect, through the Rule of Life, on the importance of communion in community in which one grows by deepening one’s relationship with Jesus, the Divine Master. With Sr. Anetta we reflected on the formative journey as it is presented in the General Plan of Formation of the Congregation. On this day, we also shared a joyful time of recreation with the community, which helped us strengthen our vocation journey.
On the second day, we joined the community recollection on the theme “Pilgrimage.” This was particularly meaningful and fitting in this Jubilee Year of Hope. The recollection was followed by a time of formative sharing, which further enriched our experience.
We concluded our gathering with a pilgrimage to the St. Mary’s Cathedral and St. Patrick’s Church—a journey that brought our days of reflection to a prayerful and memorable close.
Indeed, we are deeply grateful for this opportunity. It has been an enriching, deepening, and encouraging experience, especially at this stage of our journey. We are also thankful for the gift of Blessed James Alberione, who continues to guide our lives through the Rule of Life.
Lastly, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sr. Catherine Attard and the Sydney community for providing us with space for reflection, for their support, and for their warm hospitality throughout our time together.
Sr. Lalamea Vaohea and Sr. Finehika Fonua
