Feast of Mary Queen of Apostles

June 7th, the three communities of the Pauline Family in Strathfield, NSW, gathered together to celebrate the Feast of Mary Queen of the Apostles. Traditionally, the feast is hosted by the Daughters of St. Paul. We gathered together for the Eucharistic Celebration and a delicious meal, with pizza as the main course. Sister Linda’s cake and tropical fruit salad made the meal complete. The celebration was an occasion for catching up and nurture a family spirit.
In the Pauline Family, Mary is venerated and invoked as the Queen of Apostles. Her Feast is celebrated on Saturday that precedes Pentecost Sunday.
While explaining the devotion to Mary Queen of the Apostles, our Founder, blessed James Alberione said:
“Mary initiated her mission as Queen of Apostles in the Cenacle. She gathered the Apostles together, she comforted them, and she assisted them in prayer. Together with them she hoped, desired and prayed; with them her petitions were heeded and she received the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost.” (Alberione, 1954)
